ELKHORN, Wis. - When Tallan "T-Man" Latz was 5, he saw Joe Satriani playing guitar on TV. "I turned around to my dad and said, 'That's exactly what I want to do.'"

Three years and countless hours of practicing later, 8-year-old Tallan is a blues guitar prodigy. He's played in bars and clubs, including the House of Blues in Chicago, and even jammed with Les Paul and Jackson Browne. He has a summer of festivals scheduled and has drawn interest from venues worldwide.

saac Hayes, the great Memphis singer/composer who helped make Stax-Volt a major record label in the '60s and '70s and whose extended oeuvres of soul and r & b hits made himself a household name for the last several decades., was pronounced dead Sunday at Baptist Memorial Hospital East, the Flyer has learned.

Beatles’ Revolver was meant to be recorded at Stax in Memphis

Who knows what effect this would have had on the recording of the legendary Revolver, but it sure as hell is fun speculate. The Beatles were scheduled to record the album -- universally considered a turning point in their career -- at Stax studio in April 1966, but the trip was canceled due to security concerns.

A popular radio DJ was found dead behind a home in Southwest Memphis.

It was at 89.9 WEVL where Dee Henderson was a legend DJ known as "Cap N Pete."

Not only was he an award winning DJ for more than two decades, but he touched the lives of many.

Well, the recession we "aren't" in has finally impacted the Thursday night jams @ Neil's. Neil's management says business on Thursday nights has not been sufficient to pay the jam band, club staff, and pay all other normal club overhead, and wanted to know what the MBS could do to work with them on this problem. MBS officers met and discussed a number of alternatives to deal with this situation, including reducing the number of jams each month, stopping altogether for a while, putting a food/drink minimum on attendees, moving the jam, levying a cover and staying at Neil's.

Editors, It has been brought to our attention that some of you did not receive the press release sent earlier regarding the passing of the owner of Hi Records. Please find time to take a look at this notice and include her name in your Passages in your next issue. Adalah Shaw had many friends and associates in the blues and R&B world for her extraordinary fight to retrieve the legendary Hi masters. Without her determination, these works of arts would have been forever lost through the bankruptcy courts. Thanks for your consideration.

ELKHORN, Wis. -- A death threat and controversy are swirling around a talented young Wisconsin musician.

A few months ago, 12 News told the story of an 8-year-old from Elkhorn billed as the youngest performing blues guitarist in the world.
